EMERGING TEA PRODUCING REGIONS MASTERCLASS
PRESENTED BY JANE PETTIGREW
During this class we will discover the reasons for new tea growing activities in non-traditional and unusual parts of the globe – for example, is tea being cultivated in these regions to replace another crop, to create sustainable jobs, to refurbish and harvest abandoned tea plants, to diversify an established agricultural industry, or just because people love growing tea?
We will learn more about the most important of these new growing regions, discuss the challenges that growers face, and taste some of the teas that are being manufactured.
These will include the following:
- The UK (Wales, Scotland, Ireland and England)
- The US (Alabama, Hawaii, Michigan, North and South Carolina, Texas, Virginia)
- Canada
- Australia
- New Zealand
- Colombia
- Brazil
- The Netherlands
- Republic of Congo
- Togo
- Portugal Mainland
- Jersey
- Kumaon (India)
And maybe more!
